Mixing up blues and Southern boogie with a shot of straight-up country, vocalist/ guitarist/ songwriter/ fiddler Charlie Daniels eventually turned his image as a "Long Haired Country Boy" into a successful career that has thus far spanned three decades. Born Charles Edward Daniels in Wilmington, N.C. on Oct. 28, 1936, Daniels started out as a teenage fiddle and guitar player before moving on to a career as a professional musician with the Jaguars, a rock band that struggled to make a name for itself throughout the 1960s. Daniels temporarily left the group
